Yarning along....

So, we are yarning along with Ginny this morning.  I am finding these posts really enjoyable...and am loving the connection with other crafters....

This week, I used the same yarn as last week, but am tackling a project that is much more comfortable...  It is only about a quarter done, but it will someday be a baby blanket...and by the time it is done, I just might find a baby to give it to!

I am also trying a different stitch on this one, using a fan pattern that adds just enough challenge to the project.  But, I will admit - I did rip it out four times before I really understood what I was doing with it...

I am planning it experiment with a larger fan pattern in future....a shawl, maybe?

I am also working on a blanket for my seven year old.  When I saw the color, I knew I had to do it - after years of pink and purple, she is branching out and has declared this shade of blue to be her new favorite.   Whew!  She is incredibly excited for the finished product - which puts on some pressure.  Guess I better get back to work!

I am still reading the same book as last week - Ghost Story by Jim Butcher.  It is really good, but I have not had a lot of time to spend reading....  And, it is competing with three back copies of Backyard Chickens magazine we received...so it is up against stiff competition ;)

Check back to Ginny's site for more yarning along and other great crafting ideas!

  1. Funny that you're experimenting with a shawl design....Me too. I'm trying rows of shells. I'm not sure how it's going to turn out (if at all). I'm always thrilled to make an afghan for one of my kids -- it flatters me that they ask. I'm sure your 7 year old will treasure it.

  2. I love that colour blue, so striking (and no doubt a welcome change from pink and purple!)
