My happy escape...

Good morning everyone!  It is Wednesday, and we are Yarning Along with Ginny and joining in with Tami's Work in Progress  and Ambassador Crochet today!

I am a bit embarrassed to say that I have spent very little time with my handy-work this week.  We are tackling deadlines in the tax prep world and I am have not been home very much.  The daddy has taken the homemaking role for house and children this week, and has been fabulous as I have been off at work.

But, I have been able to afford small happy escapes.  I finished my little felted bag over the weekend, and began my adventure into crocheted lace.  Pictured above is the beginning of a rose motif.  And with long periods of time spent by myself, traveling to and from the office, I have been continuing to listen to "A Discovery of Witches" on audio.

Head on over to Ginny's, Tami's, and Ambassador's Crochet other happy ventures into fiber and literary fun.

I will see you there!

  2. I wish I could do fine crochet work -- I'm not sure my fingers could handle that. Sorry you have to work so much -- just the thought of tax season sends shivers up my spine!

  3. So neat that you're another chicken lover...as was the other crochet post on Ginny's blog! We just got 2 chickens a few weeks ago. They're so fun to watch, definitely have personalities...hoping to get eggs soon! That's a very pretty little lace piece...I lost my little crochet hook, but enjoy making tiny doilies. I've been crocheting other small items, though.

  8. Nice to meet you. I don't work outside the home but find is so hard to work in time for my crafts.
You've chosen the same blog background as I have for mine.
I want to homestead...or get pretty close to it. I'm your newest follower.

  9. Working with crochet thread makes me want to turn my crochet hook on myself. It looks like you're having a MUCH better time with it! :)

Is that the felted bag on the left side of the photo? It's really cute!

  10. I'm just learning to crochet, I'm hooking away on my first ripple but one day I'd love to try something a little more complex.

That lace crochet looks beautiful, can't wait to see more!

  11. Ah, yes. I remember those tax prep deadlines well. The month is almost over, if that's any consolation.

  12. I really need to get on this "audio book" bandwagon. I soooo miss being able to read every day (well, at least something other than children's books!). I love that little bag, the flower embellishment is the perfect touch :)
