A fiber and literary update....quick!

Good morning everyone!  It is Wednesday, and we are Yarning Along with Ginny and joining in with Tami's Amis' Work in Progress  and Ambassador Crochet today!

And this is going to be a quick one - as I have gingerbread cookies in the oven (needing to be sent to school with my daughter this morning) and chickens that are waiting impatiently to be let out of the coop....and kids that will be running down the stairs any moment, searching for breakfast....

I finished the final holiday gift this past weekend - hurray!  I would do a show and tell, but I wouldn't want to ruin any surprises...And I have be working on my son's orange blanket this week, and hope to get it finished during the holiday break.

On a fun note, I have been stock piling coupons for 50% off one item at the local craft store, and have been purchasing and savings bundles of wool yarn for later projects....

Reading-wise, I finished Friday Night Knitting Club last night...and frankly, was shocked by the ending.  I won't give away any secrets...but, wow.  Just wow.
Well, that is all on this end :)  Head on over to Ginny's, Tami's, and Ambassador's Crochet other interesting ventures into fiber and literary fun.

And if you are celebrating, I wish you all a joyeous holiday season....

  2. Mmmm...gingerbread and the bustle of things going on in your house sounds nice...where are you going to buy the yarn (Michael's or Joann's or Hobby Lobby)? 50% off is great! I hope you have a joyful Christmas!!!

  3. Hi Marfa! The 50% off coupons are at A.C. Moore. Everytime I make a purchase, I get a coupon for 50% off one item for the next week. So....they are seeing me often, buying one bundle of yarn at a time!! :)

  5. I like the stitch on that blanket. I should also start buying yarn, that way all I'll need are projects to start. I'm itching to crochet something right now, anything! Merry Christmas!

  7. I wasn't as impressed with FNKC as I thought I would be, either.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday!

  9. This is my first time visiting your blog...just popped over from Yarn Along. Your header and the name of your blog made me think of something I thought I'd suggest. Have you ever seen a 1970's British sitcom called "The Good Life" (or in the US it is sometimes marketed as "Good Neighbors")? If not, I must recommend it to you. It's really funny, and I'm sure you could relate to some of their trials, because they're suburban homesteaders, too.

  10. I'm glad you finished your holiday knitting in time. I didn't commit to anything so just made what I could, then stopped to make stuff for my tree and kitchen table. I hope you have a good Christmas :D

  11. Really liking the orange blanket. The pattern is really nice! I haven't read the knitting club book because I thought it might be boring...guess not, huh? :-)
